Spitfires' Taylor Hall Named CHL Player Of The Week

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that forward Taylor Hall of the Windsor Spitfires is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 25. Hall finished the week with 10 points including six goals and four assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-7 in three games played.

Hall scored four points and was named first star of the game in back-to-back nights beginning on Thursday when he recorded two goals and two assists in a 5-2 win over the London Knights. One of his goals was a shorthanded marker, and one of his assists set up the game-winner. On Friday he scored his second hat-trick of the season plus an assist in an 8-4 win over the Owen Sound Attack. Hall finished his week on Sunday by scoring a power play goal and adding one assist in a 6-1 win over the Belleville Bulls as third star of the game. The win was the sixth straight for the Spitfires.

Hall, a 17-year-old from Kingston, ON, is playing in his third season with the Spitfires. He currently leads the OHL in scoring with 34 points including 16 goals and 18 assists in 16 games. Hall is eligible for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Defenceman Charles-Olivier Roussel of the Shawinigan Cataractes was the QMJHL nominee for the award this week for scoring two goals with five assists for seven points in four games. WHL scoring leader Brandon Kozun of the Calgary Hitmen was also nominated for scoring three goals and six assists for nine points in four games.
