
Belfiore named to Baseball America All-Rookie squad

MISSOULA, MT - Left-handed starting pitcher Mike Belfiore, the supplemental first-round pick by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2009 MLB draft, has been named to the All-Rookie League team by the writers of Baseball America.
Belfiore, who was a closer/designated hitter while at Boston College, made the transition to a starting pitcher for the Osprey, going 2-2 with a 2.17 ERA, striking out 55 batters in 58 innings of work. In 11 starts for Missoula, Belfiore's numbers were even better - 2-2 with a 1.82 ERA, with 54 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings pitched.
Belfiore helped the Osprey to a 40-36 overall record, and a 2-1 series win over Great Falls in the North Division Playoffs. The Osprey would fall in the Pioneer League Championship Series to the Orem Owlz in three games.
