Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release

HIDALGO, TEXAS --- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL) today announced that a pair of players, defenseman Jesse Perrin and forward Brett Clouthier, are attending training camp with American Hockey League (AHL) teams.

Perrin, 22, is in camp with the San Antonio Rampage, the top affiliate of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. Clouthier, 28, is attending camp with the Providence Bruins, the main affiliate of the Boston Bruins. The Killer Bees retain the rights of both of both players if they do not make the roster of the AHL team.

San Antonio plays a trio of preseason games beginning Thursday, Sept. 24 when they host the Texas Stars. The Rampage will travel to Houston on Saturday, Sept. 26 for an exhibition game against the Aeros and close out the preseason slate in Austin on Sept. 27. Providence also plays three preseason games starting Wednesday, Sept. 23, when they battle the Springfield Falcons. They also play the Lowell Devils on Sept. 24 and the Falcons again on Sept 26.

"This is a great opportunity for both Jesse and Brett," Killer Bees Head Coach Chris Brooks said. "I wish them both luck in making an AHL roster but will be happy to have them here in the Valley if that doesn't work out."

The Killer Bees return to Dodge Arena ice this October for their seventh season in the CHL. Opening night is set for Saturday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. vs. the Laredo Bucks. The team will host a preseason game vs. the Corpus Christi IceRays on Sunday, October 11, at 6 p.m. Season tickets are available now by calling 956-843-PUCK (7825).
