MUSKEGON, MI.--- As August of the off-season arrives, it serves as a notice that the 2009-10 season is beginning to loom ever so closely on the near horizon. As the calendar changes over to the latest month, activity seems to have gained a quicker step and pace as Muskegon's 50th Anniversary Season of pro hockey approaches. Another major, positive step forward has been accomplished for the upcoming season's player roster.

On this date, Lumberjacks General Manager / Governor Tim Taylor has announced that rugged left wing ROBIN BIG SNAKE has assented to terms and signed on the dotted line of a Muskegon player contract for the 2009-10 International Hockey League season. Adhering to club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

BIG SNAKE, 25, comes to the Lumberjacks set to commence his fourth pro season and his first-ever clad in the colors of Muskegon's home town team. The strapping 6-0, 219lb hulkster brings to his new team the unique combination consisting of the sweet technique of goal-scoring and point-producing prowess blended with the uncanny knack act of physical authority and dexterity and fistic power and punch.

A native of the Siksika Nation, Alberta, the newest member of the Lumberjacks 50th Anniversary celebration season will be making a comeback of sorts following two supreme seasons in the UHL with the Rockford IceHogs in 2005-06 and 2006-07 as well as in the CHL in 2007-08 with the Texas Brahmas and Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees.

Big Snake has left a rather lasting, indelible impression wherever he has performed in his colorful career. Nobody knows that better than ‘Jacks GM Taylor. "Robin has proven to be a player very capable of scoring, agitating, intimidating and dropping the gloves. This is a combination that is quite rare at this level. He is also in the best physical condition of his pro career. His on-ice presence alone potentially gives our club a whole new dimension."

A product of the prestigious major junior ‘A' CHL (Canadian Hockey League), Big Snake, before matriculating to the pro game, saw extensive service in the WHL and the OHL. The Vancouver Giants, Portland Winter Hawks and Moose Jaw Warriors represented his WHL addresses while the Owen Sound Attack is where his shingle hung in the OHL.

Professionally speaking, he has enjoyed his best years in Rockford where he was a teammate of current Lumberjacks defensemen Matt Gens and Dan Boeser. In the 2005-06 campaign with the former UHL club, he emerged as a sharpshooting sultan, registering 27-goals, 46-points and a league-high 423-PIM. In 2006-07, he, again, demonstrated offensive proficiency with 42-points in 67-games on 17-goals, 25-assists with 330-PIM. In both of those seasons, he earned promotions to the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals.

In his most recent season of service in '07-08, he divided the year equally between Texas and Rio Grande where in a combined 50-games, he authored 23-points on 5-goals, 18-assists and another 350-PIM. In his Rio Grande stop, he was a teammate of the Lumberjacks recently-signed center Travis Banga.

Also found in Big Snake's resume is an invitation with participation in the NHL Detroit Red Wings training camp back in 2006.
