Chesapeake Bayhawks News Release
Washington, DC - The Washington Bayhawks (3-7) of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) have played through a difficult season of ups and downs in 2009, but the team finds themselves in the playoff hunt entering their final home game of the 2009 season. After a difficult 18-11 loss at Chicago last weekend, the Machine (3-7) come to town for the third and final game of the season series. The Bayhawks won the first meeting back in June 16-14.
"Last week was a difficult game for us," said Bayhawks Head Coach John Tucker. "We know we need to put these last two weeks behind us and return to the style of play that helped us win at the beginning of the month."
The Bayhawks find themselves two games behind the Long Island Lizards for the final playoff spot with two games to play this season. A Bayhawks loss or a Long Island win in either game eliminates the Bayhawks from post-season contention. If both teams finished the season with a 5-7 record, the Bayhawks would earn the final playoff spot after sweeping the season series with Long Island.
