LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Friday that they have signed rookie defenseman Ian Clarke for the 2009-10 season. Clark spent the last four seasons in juniors splitting time between the MJHL and SJHL.
The 6'0, 215 pound Clarke piled up 639 PIM's in 163 career junior games, while putting up 41 points (9-32=41).
"Ian is a very tough and rugged player, he's the kind of defenseman that I want to have on my roster," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski.
Last season the 20-year-old Clarke split time with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines (MJHL) and Estevan Bruins (SJHL), where he had a total of 14 points (5-9-14) and 177 PIM's. Clarke set a new career high with five goals last season.
Clarke spent two full seasons with Waywayseecappo in 2006-07 and 2007-08, where he amassed over 200 PIM's in each campaign.

Clarke is the eighth Buck signed this offseason, including the fifth rookie.
