(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Rhinos announced today that they have come to terms with defender Steve Kindel (pronounced Kin-DELL) on a one year deal and forward Errol McFarlane on a two year deal.
Kindel, appeared in over 240 matches with the Vancouver Whitecaps, mostly as a midfielder, scoring 31 career goals. The British Columbia native began his career with Vancouver where he spent two seasons in 1997-98 before rejoining the club in 2000 where he was a fixture until the end of the 2008 season when he was released. During his time in Vancouver, Kindel helped lead the Whitecaps to the 2006 and 2008 USL-1 Championships.
In addition to his USL experience, he also spent a brief period with R.A.E.C. Mons of the Beligian Third Division A. He saw action in 28 matches and scored five goals during that stretch. He has also earned 4 caps with the Canadian National Team from 1998-99 and 10 more with the Canadian U-23 team.
The 6'4" McFarlane joins the Rhinos from Trinidad and Tobago where he has earned 11 caps with the T&T National Team. He had been playing in the Lebanese Premier League with Al-Mabarrah. Prior to that he had been to St. Ann's Rangers of the T&T Pro League.
Both deals are awaiting USL, USSF and international approval.
