Sundogs Add Former CHL All-Star Netminder J.F. Perras

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League announced today they have added former CHL All-Star goaltender J.F. Perras to their roster for the upcoming 2009-10 season.
Perras, 28, returns to the CHL after playing the previous two seasons with the Edinburgh Capitals and Coventry Blaze of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL), the sport's top league in the United Kingdom.
The 6-foot, 190-pound netminder last appeared in the CHL during his rookie season in 2006-07 with the now-defunct Lubbock Cotton Kings. Perras appeared in 35 games, compiling a 15-14-3 record, 2.82 goals against average (GAA) and a .919 save percentage (SV%).
The Embrun, Ontario, native was twice named Oakley/CHL Goaltender of the Week (Dec. 18, Feb. 26) in 2006-07 and earned Sher-Wood/CHL Goaltender of the Month honors for the month of December after posting two shutouts, a 1.71 GAA and a .952 SV% in nine appearances.
Perras topped CHL goaltender rankings with three shutouts during his rookie campaign, his .919 save percentage was sixth-best and he was named to the 2007 Southern Conference All-Star Team.
"Perras made quite an impression on our organization during his rookie season in the CHL in 2006-07," said Sundogs Head Coach and General Manager Marco Pietroniro. "Even as a rookie netminder, his numbers ranked near the top in several key goaltending categories. We're excited for his return to the CHL with our team next season."
