Chesapeake Bayhawks News Release

With the trade deadline passed, the Washington Bayhawks are very happy with their current roster of players for the homestretch of the 2009 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) season. The MLL trade deadline was Tuesday July 7th at 4:00 PM EST.

The Bayhawks defense, currently consisting of Ronnie Staines, Kyle Hartzell, P.T. Ricci, Sean Nadelen and Michael Evans, had some early season struggles against Toronto, Boston and Denver. This led many to believe the Bayhawks might make a move on defense during the season. However, strong defensive play the past two weeks has the defense looking like it is starting to gel as a unit.

"Right now, I'm happy with the players that we have," said Bayhawks Head Coach John Tucker. "The last two weeks have been solid performances by our offense and defense, and we're starting to play better as a team. We had a very good draft which gave us nine players, and we'll only make a move at this point if we think it will make sense."
