Stars Pace Division With Seven All-Star Selections

The Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs released the 2009 North Division All-Star roster Monday, and the Huntsville Stars lead all teams with seven members selected. The team was selected by a vote of field managers, radio broadcasters, general managers, and print media. Hatton, Alabama native Donovan Hand who currently leads all Stars starters with a 2.39 ERA and a 6-1 record heads the team's three pitching selections. Robert Hinton (3.27, 9 SV) and Casey Baron (4-3, 1.80) will represent Huntsville's bullpen. Outfielder Adam Stern (.303-5-26) who is currently second in the league in stolen bases (27), hits (85), runs scored (54), and triples (5) will lead the Stars offensive assault on the South Division's best. Joining Stern will be catcher Jonathon Lucroy (.258-5-43) and second baseman Shane Justis (.307-4-38). Outfielder Drew Anderson (.293-5-31) was selected to participate, but was recently promoted to Triple-A Nashville. The 2009 Southern League All Star Game will take place July 13 at Regions Park, home of the Birmingham Barons.
