Monroe, Washington - May 30th 2009 - What does Powell, Murray, and Miller
have in common? They all had there all time records broken with the 2009
Explosion players tonight at the Monroe Sports Arena. Anthony Slater who had
18 assist tonight is the IBL current leader and now is the lone Explosion
all time record holder for assist. Follow that up with Richard Ford
destroying Justin Murray's rebounding record with 8 games remaining in the
season. With just 26 points, a little off his IBL per game average, Devon
Greene is tied with Powell for the total points in a season with 436 total
points. But the most impressive was the new Explosion center Ike Ohanson who
shattered the most rebounds in a game with 18 rebounds in his first game for
his new team. The Explosion looked to its stars and they delivered yet again. The Explosion have a huge task in the remaining 8 games in getting the young talented team to remain focused at times in the game, Also a key is to develop a bunch of role players that come in from the bench to make a difference in close games. Richard Ford received top honors tonight with 35 points and 15 rebounds for the Explosion and for Vancouver Titans the former Explosion (2008 season) point guard Kyle Keyes had 29 points. The Explosion are currently 6-6 on the season and they look forward to playing the Japanese Tornados with an IBL scheduling change. The young talented team has eight games left in the season and tickets can still be purchased online at www.explosionbasketball.net or via the phone at 425-339-BALL.
