Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release
Lewiston, ME - Despite the Lewiston MAINEiacs annoucing their plans to stay put for next year, it wasn't enough to rally the boys in blue to a win over the Volts. The MAINEiacs fell to Drummondville 7-2 in game 3 of the President Cup playoffs on Tuesday evening at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The MAINEiacs are now down 3-0 in the best-of-seven series.
Billy Lacasse and Max Gratchev both scored in the first, right after Drummondville's Yannick Riendau to give the MAINEiacs their second lead of the series. Drummondville took it the rest of the way with two more goals in the first, second, and third periods.
Adrien Lemay took his second loss of the playoffs after facing 57 Drummondville shots. Marco Cousineau earned his third win in a row over the MAINEiacs after seeing 14 shots from Lewiston. The three stars of the game were 1) Yannick Riendeau (DRU), 2) Mike Hoffman (DRU), and 3) Billy Lacasse (LEW).
The MAINEiacs will lace up for game 4 tomorrow night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee at 7:00 PM.
