Indiana Ice News Release
INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Ice announced today that defenseman Garret Kennedy will be playing his collegiate hockey at Miami (OH) University in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
The Brighton, MI native has been a nice addition to the Ice line-up this season. The hard-nosed defenseman has recorded six points (G, 5A), 62 penalty minutes, and a team leading (+13) plus/minus.
He will be joining a RedHawks program in the future with current teammates Joe Hartman, Shane Berschbach and Max Cook.
Miami has made the NCAA tournament four of the last five years and several of their recent players have moved on to the NHL ranks including Dan Boyle (San Jose), Andy Greene (New Jersey) and last year's Hobey Baker runner-up Ryan Jones (Nashville).
The Ice will be playing eight of their next ten games on the road including games at Sioux City Friday and Saturday in Des Moines.
