Miners announce new ticket pricing

PIKEVILLE, KY. - The East Kentucky Miners professional basketball organization has announced new ticket pricing. Prices are being reduced in an effort to make the "Miners Experience" more affordable for everyone in the region. As part of the new Miners' ticket pricing, all general admission upper-level seats will be reduced to $5 from $8, and all lower-level reserved seats will be reduced to a flat $10, down from $20 as part of the new ticket pricing initiative. In addition to the new ticket pricing, Miners fans will also be able to take advantage of a new ticket promotion called "$5 Fridays" where ALL seats for every Friday home game, including FLOOR SEATS, are $5 (first come first serve). Those tickets can be purchased in advance. On $5 Fridays, hot dogs are only $1.
"Appalachian Wireless sponsored the February 2 game, and made it possible for fans to purchase any seat in the house, including floor seats, for $5," said Demetrius Ford, Miners co-owner and president. "We had just shy of 2,500 fans turn out for that game, but in previous games, and the games following that night, attendance has been averaging about 1,100 per game. It's clear that a lower ticket price will increase attendance, and in order for this team to survive in this market, we need to sell as many tickets as possible. A more affordable ticket should also attract more people who have not yet been to a game, and the hope is that they not only sample our product, but fall in love with it and return game after game."
The Miners play their home games in the state-of-the-art East Kentucky Expo Center. Fans who attend an East Kentucky Miners game are guaranteed the best for their entertainment dollar.
"We give our fans so much more than great basketball," Ford continued. "We entertain the whole family. We have 2 huge inflatable bounce houses at every game to keep the little ones happy. We have a VIP room overlooking the court that offers premium food, a full bar and large screen televisions. We have the league's best dance team and the most entertaining mascot in professional basketball. Even at our earlier ticket pricing, you simply couldn't find a better entertainment value anywhere in Eastern Kentucky. Now, with ticket prices cut by as much as 75-percent for the remainder of the season, an entire family can enjoy a full night of indoor entertainment for less than going to the movies."
East Kentucky is currently 9-0 and ranks as the CBA's only undefeated team.
