CJOB, Moose announce Nielsen to join Munz in broadcast booth

CJOB 68 Radio, in conjunction with the Manitoba Moose, are pleased to announce today former NHL and AHL forward Chris Nielsen is the new Color Analyst for Moose Hockey on CJOB.

Nielsen will join play-by-play broadcaster Brian Munz for all 40 home games at the MTS Centre this season. He will make his debut Wednesday, September 24th as CJOB broadcasts the NHL Exhibition game at the MTS Centre between the Calgary Flames and Phoenix Coyotes.

Nielsen, who was born in Tanzania, moved to Canada and grew up in Goodlands, Manitoba. The 28-year old played four seasons with the Western Hockey League's Calgary Hitmen prior to being selected in the second round, 36th overall, by the New York Islanders in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Over the next six seasons, Nielsen played 52 games in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets. His AHL resume includes two seasons with the Moose, as well as stints in Syracuse, San Antonio and Chicago. While with the Moose from 2002-04, Nielsen scored seven goals and 17 assists for 24 points in 105 games and 34 penalty minutes.
