
Eight CFL fan pairs are up for the Challenge

(TORONTO, ON) - Eight fan pairs from across the country will be calling plays from their own customized plan to take action to improve their cardiovascular health with the help of their local Canadian Football League (CFL) star and personal trainer. Players, fans and personal trainers will be meeting on a regular basis over the next six weeks as part of the Making the Connection CFL Challenge, presented by Making the Connection and the CFL.
A national winning pair will be selected from the program's eight pair finalists and will be announced in November. The winning pair will receive a grand prize that includes a trip to the 96th Grey Cup in Montreal, Quebec on Sunday, November 23, 2008.
"I congratulate these fans for recognizing the importance of taking the steps necessary to manage cardiovascular health issues like cholesterol, high blood pressure and smoking" said Wally Buono, Head Coach of the BC Lions and Making the Connection spokesperson. "I look forward to watching the fans and players develop their personal game plan to change their lifestyles and take charge of their health."

- Jeff Johnson (Toronto Argonauts) with Stewart & Bonnie Henry
- Ãtienne Boulay (Montréal Alouettes) with Jacques Veillette & Suzanne Fréchette
Those who did not have the chance to participate in the Challenge can still benefit from the program and will still have the opportunity to win a gym membership or even their own personal home gym by registering for their own personalized action plan at http://5step.makingtheconnection.ca.
