Three More Join Pirates Hockey Operations Staff

PORTLAND, ME - The Buffalo Sabres and Portland Pirates announced today that Kevin Collins, Robert Frost and Henning Aagaard-Svendsenhave been added to the Pirates hockey staff. Kevin Collins joins the team as the Strength and Conditioning/Video Coach along with Medical Trainer Robert Frost and Equipment Manager Henning Aagaard-Svendsen.

Kevin Collins joins the Pirates staff for his first season as the Pirates Strength and Conditioning/Video Coach. Before coming to Portland, he served as an assistant coach for the past three seasons with the Rochester Americans, Buffalo's former American Hockey League affiliate.

"Kevin comes directly from the Sabres system and will be an excellent resource for Eric and I as well as our players," said Pirates head coach Kevin Dineen.

Robert Frost will begin his first season as the Pirates Medical Trainer for the 2008-09 season. Frost is a certified member of both the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Before arriving in Maine, he served as the athletic trainer and strength and conditioning coach for the men's hockey team at St. Lawrence University from 2003-2008. Prior to his time with St. Lawrence, Frost was the athletic trainer for the men's hockey team at St. Cloud State from 2001-2003.

"Robert comes to Portland, full of enthusiasm and years of training at a strong St. Lawrence University hockey program," said Dineen.

Henning Aagaard-Svendsen was also named the team's Equipment Manager at today's press conference. Aagaard-Svendsen brings experience to the Pirates locker room from both the AHL and NHL levels. He spent the last two seasons with the Toronto Marlies, after spending three seasons with the Atlanta Thrashers as the Visiting Locker Room Attendant. Before his time in Atlanta, he also spent two years at Elmira College as the Equipment Manager for both the Men's and Women's ice hockey programs.

"Henning has worked in the great hockey town of Toronto with the Marlies and his additional three years of experience with the Atlanta Thrashers will be a valuable asset in helping our players with all of their needs," said Dineen.
