Rochester Knighthawks News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Knighthawks received defenseman Mac Allen today to complete the trade with the Edmonton Rush that occurred on June 30th.
In that deal, the Knighthawks acquired defenseman Troy Bonterre in exchange for forwards Lindsay Plunkett and Matt Brown. The forwards were originally drafted by Rochester in the National Lacrosse League Dispersal Draft of the former Arizona Sting franchise.
The trade also gave Rochester a third-round pick in the 2008 NLL Entry Draft and future considerations, which turned out to be Allen.
The 23-year-old Toronto native played two seasons in Edmonton and recorded one goal, four assists, 168 faceoff wins and 67 loose balls. His most productive season was in 2007, as he notched five points (1+4) in 14 games.
In the summer, Allen plays for the Peterborough Lakers of the Ontario Lacrosse Association Major Series. In 2008, he has appeared in 17 games and has three goals and three assists.
