Chill shooters ice cold in lopsided loss
June 7, 2008 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Edmonton Chill News Release
The Edmonton Chill, playing their second game in two nights, walked into a buzz saw as they took on the two-time defending IBL Champs Elkhart Express who rolled to a 150-90. The Chill playing again without their head coach could not handle the deep and well coached Express who sported a 17 player bench and a coaching staff of eight.
The Express got going early in the game as they screened both high and low to perfection creating open three-pointers everywhere with the home-side shooting at a 48% clip from long range on the night. The Chill again lacked offensive rythm early scoring just 36 in the opening half and trailed 35 at the half. The boys from Edmonton did a better job in the second half as the found a groove dropping 61 but were really never close tonight.
Leading the way for Edmonton was JR Patrick with 14, and the team got 13 points each from Marco Morgan, who made his Chill debut tonight, Lee Scruggs and Deion Callens. On the boards for the Chill, Antwon Mills and Lee Scruggs each collected 8 of the few Elkhart misses.
The Chill will play their third straight night tomorrow against Windy City, a game you can hear live through the team website at www.edmontonchill.com tipping at 6:15pm.
