GAME SUMMARY

Amarillo, TX; May 21, 2008 - The Amarillo Dillas scored five runs in two innings to give them the win 9-6 over the Alexandria Aces Wednesday night at the Dilla Villa. After Gary Schneidmiller hit a go-ahead, solo home run to lead off the seventh, the Dillas scored four in the eighth. Jonathan Reynosa and Danny Bravo each hit a two-run singles to give Amarillo a 9-4 lead going into the ninth. The Dillas went up 3-0 after the first inning on an RBI-single by Danny Bravo and back-to-back groundouts by AJ Johnson and Justin Wenger. Luis Guance cut the Amarillo lead to 3-1 by scoring on an error by Josh Ashton. The two teams combined for nine errors with the Dillas committing five. They have committed 19 errors in the two-game series. The Aces tied the game in the seventh 4-4 on RBI-singles singles by Albert Gonzalez and Brian Sabatella. Patrick O'Sullivan hit his fourth homer of the year in the ninth, a two run shot. Guance left the game in the sixth after injuring his knee getting hit by a ball at second base. Guance was replaced by Brad Turney, who is coming off a ankle injury. He played third base as a rare left-handed infielder. Ralph Roberts (1-0) got the win for Amarillo working two innings giving up two runs on three hits and two walks striking out four. Ramon Portillo, who was making his Aces debut, got the loss going 1.2 innings and giving up one run on one hit striking out one. The Aces and Dillas finish their series on Thursday with Chad Linder pitching for Alexandria. Game time is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
