Lewiston MAINEiacs News Release
Lewiston, ME - Jonathan Bernier and the Lewiston MAINEiacs are proud to announce the end of the Bernier's Saves to Remember campaign. For every save he has made in a MAINEiacs uniform since November 30, 2007, Bernier has made an $8 contribution to the Maine Alzheimer's Association. Thanks to his generous commitment, Jonathan will present a check to Amanda Pike of the Maine Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association at tonight's game against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles at 7:00 PM. Throughout the season Jonathan has made 758 saves in 23 regular season games and the 4 playoff games against Cape Breton. There was also an anonymous donation of $100. The grand total for the program is $6,164.
The Maine Alzheimer's Association serves the entire State of Maine. There are approximately 30,000 families in Maine who are affected by Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. The goal of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
