Keven Veilleux traded to Rimouski
January 5, 2008 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) News Release
BOUCHERVILLE, Saturday, January 5, 2008 - The Victoriaville Tigres and the Rimouski Oceanic concluded a very important trade today.
The Tigres sent power forward Keven Veilleux (89-06-27) and a fourth round pick in 2009 to the Oceanic for veteran Maxime Tanguay (88-11-16), defenseman Keven Dupont (89-02-09), their first round pick in 2009 and the second round pick in 2008 acquired from the Quebec Remparts.
Veilleux, a center that was selected in second round by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the last NHL draft, has ten goals and thirty-two helpers in forty-two games so far this season. The 6'-5'' and 200 pounds Saint-Georges native provided the win in shootout for the "Q's" all-star team in the second game of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge last November. As for Maxime Tanguay, a 2007 third round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks and brother of the Calgary Flames Alex Tanguay, will be wearing the uniform of a third team in the QMJHL since he was drafted by Chicoutimi in 2005.
Of note, the trade period comes to a close on Tuesday, January 8, at noon.
