Hamilton, Ontario - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are excited to announce that Canadian Idol winner and Hamilton resident Brian Melo will perform the national anthem at the team's upcoming October 14 game at Ivor Wynne Stadium.
"I am excited and honoured to sing the national anthem for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats," said Melo. "I have been a massive fan for as long as I can remember."
In addition to singing Oh Canada, Melo will also lead the Ticats faithful in an Oskee-Wee-Wee cheer. The 25-year-old was crowned Canadian Idol last month during the show's season finale, which generated almost five million fan votes from across the country.
