Bucks Training Camp Opens October 8th

October 3, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League will officially open the 2007-08 training camp on October 8th with a pair of on-ice practices at the LEC. This week, however, is a busy one for the Bucks organization as the new players will arrive in Laredo by Friday to meet with Bucks head/coach GM Terry Ruskowski.

This summer has been a busy one for Ruskowski, having signed a lifetime contract extension with the Bucks, on top of re-signing 10 returning players from last years team, and as of today, recruiting 13 newcomers to Laredo. But as expected, Ruskowski is not finished with his pre-season recruiting. "I am still trying to get one more tough guy in here for camp before Friday", Ruskowski said. "I can't sleep lately, I am trying non-stop to find that tough guy to come here."

Once Ruskowski sets his training camp roster he will have until Thursday October 18th to trim it down to 19 players for the start of the regular season. The Bucks will play three pre-season games this year, giving Ruskowski a better look at the players trying to make the final roster. "Playing three pre-season games this year will give me a better idea of who can fit in on our roster, and who are the right guys for our system", Ruskowski said.

The Bucks will announce their final pre-season roster, and training camp schedule later this week. Single game tickets for the first six games of the 2007-08 season will go on sale October 10th.
