Edinburg, TX; August 17, 2007- United League Baseball (ULB) announced today the winners of the 2007 End-of-Season Awards voted on by the United League Field Managers, Media Personnel and ULB League Office. Edinburg Coyote's infielder Nelson Teilon has been named the United League's Most Valuable Player, Former Alexandria Aces southpaw Adam Cox has been named the Pitcher of the Year, and San Angelo outfielder Ronnie Gaines has been named the Rookie of the Year rounding out the player awards.

Teilon, a native of San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic, has challenged for the United League's triple crown as he has been the league leader in homeruns, runs batted in, and batting average at different stages through the 2007 season. Teilon currently leads all of United League Baseball in batting average (.364), runs batted in (92), doubles (30), and slugging percentage (.617). Cox still currently leads the ULB in wins (12), and earned run average (2.38) and will finish winning the titles in both statistical categories. The native of Valdosta, Georgia, joined the Aces in 2006 after spending his first two seasons of independent baseball with the Jackson Senators of the now defunct Central League. The 27-year old south-paw began his professional career in the Indians organization. Cox was selected in the fourth round of the 2000 MLB draft but was plagued with injuries throughout his first four seasons of pro baseball. In 2006 Cox was a member of the 2006 United League Champion Aces.

Gaines, a Temple, TX native, has become a valuable piece to the San Angelo puzzle as the rookie outfielder has put up some sparkling numbers in his first full season of independent baseball.
