SALT LAKE CITY (Tuesday, November 7thth, 2006) Real Salt Lake is pleased to announce that two members of the team's front office staff have been honored by Major League Soccer as recipients of year end league awards.

Trey Fitz-Gerald, RSL'S Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications, has been selected as Major League Soccer's 2006 "Marketing Executive of the Year". Fitz-Gerald oversees all Marketing and Communication initiatives for RSL, including the look and the feel of the RSL brand, negotiation of advertising and broadcasting relationships, political and PR strategies, and the internet/ web site content on www.realsaltlake.com. When Fitz-Gerald, one of Real Salt Lake's original employees, was informed of the decision, he was quick to give credit to the rest of the RSL Marketing Staff:

"This is a reflection of hard work put in by many people", said Fitz-Gerald. "I am humbled that the league would choose me for this award, but I will certainly share this honor with our staff. I am fortunate to work with some of the most capable people in all of Major League Soccer; what we have accomplished in this market in two short years is truly unprecedented in this league. Soccer in America is growing in a very exciting direction, and Salt Lake City has already established itself as a leader in the US Soccer movement. I am honored to just be a part of it, and I eagerly anticipate continued success for RSL in this market for many years to come."

Chad Sackett, RSL'S Sr. Manager of Soccer Community Sales, has been recognized by MLS as one of the top five ticket sales reps in the following categories:

- Overall Ticket Revenue

- New Season Ticket Sales

- Group Ticket Sales

Sackett, who was the first ticket rep hired by RSL, has worked hard to accommodate the ticketing needs of Utah's soccer community and has established himself as one of the most efficient ticket reps in Major League Soccer. He followed up a stellar 2005 season in which he placed in the top five in overall revenue and season ticket sales with an even better performance in 2006. Sackett again finished in the top five in revenue and season tickets, but added a top five finish in group sales, while in the process becoming the only MLS ticketing rep to finish in the top five in all three ticketing categories.

"Chad has proven to be a very valuable asset to our organization", said John Kimball, RSL'S VP of Business Operations. "Not only does he continue to be among the league leaders in several ticketing categories, but he has also opened the door to several valuable relationships in the youth soccer community that are vital to our long-term success. Chad is one of the most well known, well respected people in Utah's soccer scene, having coached and played at a very high level in this state for many years. Possessing someone like Chad in our organization that is deeply committed to the local soccer culture is beneficial on several levels. Placing in the top five in all three ticketing categories recognized by the league is a testament of how hard Chad works, and how important he is to our day to day operations. These honors are very well deserved."

TALLEY UP FOR "SIERRA MIST GOAL OF THE YEAR": Real Salt Lake MF Carey Talley is still in the hunt for the "Sierra Mist Goal of the Year", having recently been named one of the five finalists for the award, which will be handed out on Friday, November 10th. Talley's goal, a 40 yard blast vs. Chivas USA at Rice-Eccles Stadium on July 26th, is battling goals from DC United's Facundo Erpen, FC Dallas's Carlos Ruiz, and a goal a piece from the Houston Dynamo tandem of Dwayne De Rosario and Brian Ching.

Fans are encouraged to log onto www.mlsnet.com to cast their votes. Individuals may vote up to 10 times. Voting for the final round concludes November 8th.
