Philadelphia Soul News Release
PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Soul announced today that quarterback Tony Graziani has been activated from injured reserve. He returns to the lineup for the Soul's final regular season home game this Saturday, May 6 against the Dallas Desperados. Graziani tore his hamstring (right) while facing the Chicago Rush in Week 11.
Graziani (6'3", 215 Oregon), in his second season with the Soul, has completed 190-of-320 passes for 2467 yards and 34 touchdowns despite eight interceptions in 10 games this season. He is 20 touchdowns away from reaching the 400 plateau and is 128 completions away from achieving 1,500 for his career. The Soul are 6-4 this season when Graziani is a starter, with four of those wins coming at home.
With playoff implications hanging in the balance, a win against the top-rated Desperados (12-2) on Saturday would be a crucial step towards the Soul capturing their first ever playoff appearance. The Soul pulled out a 55-51 thriller at Dallas in Week 9.
The Soul (7-7) are currently boasting their best season in franchise history and a win against the Desperados on Saturday will solidify at least a .500 record for the season with one game remaining at the Georgia Force on Saturday, May 13.
Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 4 pm and will be broadcast live on OLN. The game can be heard on the News Sportstalk 950 AM and via the web at www.philadelphiasoul.com. Tickets are still available by calling 1-888-PHIL-AFL or by visiting www.philadelphiasoul.com.
