Jax fall to Swarm, 14-12

Portland (5-5) fell tonight to Minnesota 14-12. The LumberJax led for most of the game, but the Swarm had a late surge that gave them the win. Ryder Bateman was the high scorer for the Jax with three goals. There were three Jax players with two goals each: Del Halladay, Ryan Powell, and Bruce Alexander. Kasey Beirnes and Ryan Ward were the two high scorers for the Swarm with three goals each. The fourth quarter was the deciding factor when the Swarm outscored the Jax 5-1.

The first half ended with the Jax up by two, 6-4. Del Halladay scored the first goal of the game followed soon after by Ryan Powell. The Swarm had four different scorers in the first half: Spencer Martin, Rory McDade, Ryan Ward, and Kelly Hall. In the first, the Jax had two repeat scorers with Del Halladay and Bruce Alexander.

Minnesota and Portland swapped goals in the third, with the score staying tight going into the fourth quarter. The Jax stayed in the lead throughout most of the game keeping a three goal lead going into the fourth quarter. The Swarm fought back and tied the score with a goal from Mark Miyashita. With four minutes left to go Minnesota took the lead with a goal from Brock Boyle and then Kasey Beirnes scored as well.

The Jax will play against San Jose on Saturday, March 25 at 7:30p at the Rose Garden. The game will be broadcast live on CNW TV14 and KCMD 970AM.
