Kalamazoo's Deitsch and Rockford's Robinson earn monthly honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Thursday that Kalamazoo Wings center Jason Deitsch has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month and Rockford IceHogs goaltender Michel Robinson has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Month for February.

Deitsch completed the month with 24 points (13g, 11a) and plus-18 rating in 13 games played. He tallied at least one point in all 13 games during February highlighted by a four-point night (3g, 1a) vs. Flint on February 4th. His "hat trick" (3g) vs. Flint was the first of his professional career. He had a plus/minus rating of even or better in all 13 games and registered three game-winning goals. The 25-year-old native of Cincinnati, Ohio leads the Kalamazoo wings with 27 goals this season and is currently riding a six-game goal streak. He is second in the UHL in shooting percentage (.248).

Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month include: Adirondack Frostbite right wing Ryan Bennett, Danbury right wing Jean-Michel Daoust, Elmira right wing Jason Sessa, Flint center Terry Marchant, Fort Wayne left wing P.C. Drouin, Missouri left wing Jim Duhart, Motor City center Brent Gretzky, Muskegon right wing Robin Bouchard, Port Huron forward Jim Murphy, Quad City right wing Chad Woollard, Richmond center Mike Oliveira, Roanoke left wing David Beauregard, and Rockford center Olivier Proulx.

Robinson finished the month with a 6-2-0 record, a 1.57 goals against average (GAA), a .937 save percentage (SPCT), and two shutouts. He stopped all 30 Quad City shots on February 10th to earn his first shutout of the season. He recorded his second shutout when he stopped all 11 Port Huron shots on February 19th. He had his 10-game winning streak snapped on February 23rd when he was credited with the loss in Rockford's 5-4 loss to Port Huron. The 23-year-old native of Montreal, Quebec currently leads all UHL goaltenders with a 2.14 GAA and a .927 SPCT. It is the second consecutive UHL Goaltender of Month honor for Robinson.
