Express to hold first open tryout Dec. 10

Do you think you have what it takes to be the next Kurt Warner or Chad Mustard? Both players started their careers as unknowns who made the roster of an indoor football team and went on to play in the NFL. The San Angelo Stampede Express of the Intense Football League is looking for the next diamond in the rough.

The Stampede Express will hold their first open player tryout on Saturday, December 10, 2005. The tryout will be held at San Angelo Stadium located at 1919 Knickerbocker Road. The cost is $50 per player and includes a t-shirt, only cash and money orders will be accepted.

Participants do not need to bring pads, but do need to bring cleats appropriate for the San Angelo Stadium FieldTurf. Track shoes are unacceptable. Participants are also expected to be in appropriate workout attire.

Registration will begin at 7:00 am for linemen, fullback/linebackers, and kickers, and at 8:30 am for wide receivers, defensive backs, running backs, and quarterbacks. The Stampede Express will not house out of town players. Participants coming from out of town are encouraged to call the San Angelo Inn at 1-800-784-7839 or by visiting them on the web at www.hotelsanangelo.com. The San Angelo Inn is located at 441 Rio Concho Drive.

The Stampede Express will begin their 3rd season in the spring of 2006, with 7 action packed games at the San Angelo Coliseum. Season tickets are currently available at the Stampede Express offices located at the San Angelo Convention Center or by calling 947-DOWN (3696) or 653-9577. Thanksgiving turkeys, courtesy of Albertson's, are available with the purchase of 2 box seat season tickets until November 23rd. Stampede Express Football... Get in the Game!
