Dennis Scott Becomes General Manager of ABA Atlanta Vision

Atlanta, GA. The ABA Atlanta Vision announced today that NBA sharp shooter and Georgia Tech Hall of Fame inductee, Dennis Scott, will be the team's General Manager.

"We are honored to have such a talented, knowledgeable and local professional basketball icon join our organization," states Atlanta Vision owner, Quentin Townsend. "I am certain Dennis will elevate the Vision's influence and impact on the basketball community."

Dennis Scott holds the Georgia Tech record for three-point field goals in a game and set the ACC single-season scoring record of 970 points in 1989-90. Scott was the fourth pick overall in the first round of the 1990 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic, played 11 NBA seasons, and ranks among the top 20 in NBA history in three-point goals. Most recently, Scott was a Dream Job finalist on ESPN.

Nicknamed '3-D', Dennis Scott is right at home with the Atlanta Vision and the ABA professional basketball league noted for its famous 3D rule and affordable family entertainment. "I am excited about giving back to Georgia basketball fans, grooming local talent, and joining the Vision as General Manager," comments Scott. "Atlanta Vision and I are both committed to excellence, community outreach, and establishing a winning business model for the organization."

The Atlanta Vision 36 game season begins November 2005 through early March 2006 with 18 home games at The Samson's Center, 6400 Woodrow Road - Lithonia, Georgia 30038. "We are so excited about bringing quality entertainment and explosive ABA action that is affordable for the entire family to enjoy together in an intimate setting," said Townsend. "Every fan not only sees the Vision, but becomes a part of it." Atlanta Vision is an official member of the American Basketball Association (ABA) made famous by Julius "Dr. J" Erving, the red, white and blue ball, innovative rules, and fan-friendly, affordable entertainment. The ABA is the largest professional basketball league in the US expanding to over 50 teams across the country.

The Atlanta Vision will hold an open tryout on Saturday, July 2nd and Sunday, July 3rd at The Samson's Center. Selected players will be involved in the 2005-2006 Training-Vet Camp which begins November 1st. Interested players can register on-line at www.theatlantavision.com.
