Baltimore, MD (March 7, 2005)- The Baltimore Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced today that they have acquired goaltender Trevor Tierney and the fourth overall pick in the 2005 MLL Collegiate draft in a trade with the Boston Cannons. In exchange the Bayhawks sent standout attackman Mark Millon to Boston.

Millon has been a force in the Bayhawks lineup for the last four years, as well as one of the best offensive players in the MLL. He has led the Bayhawks in points scored in each of the last four seasons, and led the team in goals in each of the last three, and holds the team record for goals in a game with 8. In the MLL record books, he is the all-time points leader with 249.

"It is difficult to part with a player of Mark's magnitude," said Bayhawks General Manager Jay Pivec. "He has been a major contributor to the success of the Bayhawks and the MLL at large. His stats speak for themselves." He said of the nature of the trade, "Boston had a need for a player that can carry their offense and that plays the style of lacrosse that Mark brings to the game. We had a need to put ourselves in a stronger position in the draft and to raise the level of competition at goalkeeper, as well as to get under the salary cap."

Trevor Tierney, a Princeton University alum, spent the first three and a half years of his career in the MLL with the New Jersey Pride. He was traded to Boston during the 2004 season, where he appeared in goal in the final two games. In 2003, Tierney started all twelve games with the Pride, and finished the season with a 14.3 goals-against average. Tierney is currently fifth on the MLL career wins list for goalkeepers.

With the fourth overall pick they received in the trade, the Bayhawks now hold the third and fourth overall picks in the Collegiate Draft on June 1st at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.
