Tisdale, 3 Assists in 5-0 Charlotte Victory Over Northern Virginia

(Charlotte, NC) - The Charlotte Lady Eagles hosted the Northern Virginia Majestics tonight at beautiful Waddell Stadium. Veteran midfielder Tiffany Tisdale assisted on three goals to lead Charlotte to a 5-0 victory over Northern Virginia.
The Charlotte Lady Eagles took control in the first half, moving the ball well. Lady Eagles midfielder got the first goal of the match in the 10th minute off a corner kick. Veteran midfielder and captain, Tiffany Tisdale took the corner and found Hollenbeck in the six yard box, for the header and the goal. Just a minute later, Tisdale got her second assist of the game on another corner kick. This time she connected with forward Sarah Steinman for the 2-0 lead.
Charlotte added one more before the end of the half. In 23rd minute Steinmann drove down the right flank and sent a cross in to forward Carrie Kveton on the left post. Kveton got a foot on the cross to tap it in. Charlotte outshot Northern Virginia 15-2 in the first half. Majestics goalkeeper Naomi Hines made six saves for Northern Virginia in the half.
The second half of the match started along with the rain. Charlotte continued to pressure, but not quite as aggressively with the three point lead. In the 63rd minute Tiffany Tisdale earned her third assist of the game, setting up forward Ashley Swinehart for goal four of the match. Paige Ledford finished off the scoring in the 89th minute. The Lady Eagles continued to be dangerous on the corner kicks. Tisdale sent the kick into the box. Sarah Steinmann's shot in the six yard box was saved and deflected back. Steinmann tapped the ball to Paige Ledford who finished. The Lady Eagles outshot the Majestics 9-2 in the second half. Substitute Northern Virginia goalkeeper Emily Niman had four saves in the half.
"Each week our rythmn is getting a little better. I was pleased with the effort tonight" said Lady Eagles head coach Lee Horton. "We moved the ball a little better; combinations up front were probably the best that we've had. We put in a new corner kick set up tonight and scored three goals off of it. Tiffany Tisdale had some great serves into the box and had three assists tonight."
The Lady Eagles have another home game coming up this week on Thursday, June 24th hosting the Asheville Splash at beautiful Waddell Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 pm. There will also be live music and a post game concert by Brittany Waddell.
