
Red-hot SkyChiefs win fifth straight spring game

The Syracuse SkyChiefs defeated the Durham Bulls 7-2 in Spring Training action at the Devil Rays Complex in St. Petersburg, Florida. The SkyChiefs improve to 6-2 overall this spring and have won five straight.
Dustin McGowan, rated the #2 Blue Jays Prospect by Baseball America, picked up the victory for Syracuse going five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out two Durham batters. Kevin Frederick followed with one scoreless inning, then Francisco Rosario, rated the #5 Blue Jays Prospect by Baseball America, closed out the game with three scoreless innings allowing just one hit.
Alexis Rios, rated #1 Blue Jays Prospect by Baseball America, led the offensive attack for the SkyChiefs with three hits in four at-bats, including a double and a triple, scored twice and drove home a run. Guillermo Quiroz, rated the #3 Blue Jays Prospect by Baseball America, had a double in three at-bats and drove home a run. Gabe Gross, rated the #4 Blue Jays Prospect by Baseball America, got the SkyChiefs on the board in the second inning driving home Jeff Guiel with a single.

The SkyChiefs (6-2) and Bulls meet again tomorrow at the Blue Jays Complex in Dunedin, Florida.
