Tulsa Talons News Release
Tulsa, OK- Anthony Buich, who quarterbacked the Tulsa Talons of the arenafootball2 League during the 2002 season, has signed a contract with the Arena Football League's Tampa Bay Storm and will attend their training camp which begins on Friday, Talons head coach Skip Foster announced this afternoon.
"I'm extremely happy that Anthony has received this opportunity," said Foster. "Anthony was a tremendous quarterback for us last season, and we are going to miss him. But, this is exactly what playing in the af2 is all about, getting the opportunity to further your playing career at the next level.
Buich led the Talons to their first National Conference Central Division championship in 2002 and a 14-2 regular season record. Buich, a Second-Team All-af2 selection last year, threw for 3,004 yards and 64 touchdowns while completing 66.1% of his passes, which led the league and is a Talons single season record. His passer rating of 116.5 ranked him third among all af2 quarterbacks.
Before joining the Talons prior to last season, Buich played for the af2's Iowa Barnstormers in 2001, where he posted a record of 9-4 as the team's starting quarterback. He threw for 3,021 yards and 58 touchdowns in 13 games for the Barnstormers. Buich played his collegiate ball at Eastern Illinois University where he threw for 4,493 yards with 27 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
