Game Keys - Donnie Murphy smoked a two run home run in the 9th inning to cap a 4-1 Zephyrs win on a cool afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska. The win is the Zephyrs season best third in a row. Hector Luna drilled a two run home run in the first and Murphy delivered the two run home run in the ninth as the long-balls book end the Z's scoring. Starter Brad Stone earned the win and former Z Philip Humber took the loss for the Royals. Kasey Olenberger pitched the ninth and earned the save for the visiting Zephyrs.
Game Notes: Shortstop Donnie Murphy, a former KC Royal has hit home runs in back to back games against his former organization. All of the Zephyrs 14 wins have been by 3 runs or less. The Zephyrs are now 4-0 in the grey jerseys. The Z's improved to 12-0 when leading after 8 innings.
Coming Up: The Z's and Royals will wrap up the three game series at Rosenblatt Stadium on Monday morning at 11:05. New Orleans will start RH Rick Vandenhurk (2-2, 5.33) against RH Gaby Hernandez (2-2, 6.12). The Z's have not swept an opponent this season. RADIO: 106.1 FM WMTI
