-Rodrigues earns look from FC Dallas

One of the most dynamic young players in the Xtreme Soccer League will train with FC Dallas of Major League Soccer in the coming weeks. Defender J.P. Rodrigues is tied for second on the Milwaukee Wave with 18 points, including five 3-pointers. Just 25 years old, Rodrigues has nine caps with the Guyana men's national team and played with Miami FC in USL-1. Wave Coach Keith Tozer said Rodrigues is not expected to miss Wave games during the XSL season extending into early April.

-Ignition likes the home cooking

After thumping New Jersey 16-11 on Sunday, the Detroit Ignition have reeled off 14 consecutive home victories. In those victories they're averaging a whopping 16.3 points per game. Not only do they score big, they score fast. In the four wins this year, the Ignition have built first-quarter leads of 4-3, 2-0, 6-0 and 6-0. The Ignition won their last 10 home games a year ago, with the last defeat coming Jan. 4, 2008 against the California Cougars.

-Closing in on No. 600

Milwaukee's 22-12 victory over New Jersey last Saturday was the 598th regular-season victory for Milwaukee Wave head coach Keith Tozer. He is in his 25th season as a head coach, starting the same season as the Wave did, 1984-85, as the head coach of the Louisville Thunder. Tozer also coached the Los Angeles Lazers and Atlanta/Kansas City Attack before coming to Milwaukee in 1992-93. He brought in Victor Nogueira that season and Michael King the next season; the Wave have not had a losing season since. Tozer's overall record in all games is 649-412, a .612 winning percentage.
