Xplosion Team Up With ESPN 1660
February 19, 2008 - Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL)
Kalamazoo Xplosion News Release
The Kalamazoo Xplosion have agreed in terms with Results Radio and ESPN 1660 to carry play-by-by for both home and away games for the 2008 season.
Members of the Xplosion front office met with ESPN 1660 and WKZO program directors Tuesday afternoon to discuss the possibilities of Xplosion football being broadcast over the AM airwaves. Members of Results Radio accepted the Kalamazoo Xplosion with open arms, and appear to be just as excited as the entire Xplosion organization.
It has not been determined which of the Xplosion's 12 games, if not all, will be broadcast by ESPN 1660. Upon further review of the stations prior obligations, the Kalamazoo Xplosion/ESPN 1660 radio schedule will be released.
"We're extremely happy with the relationship we've developed with ESPN 1660. They are the premiere sports radio station in Southwest Michigan, and we are honored to be a part of it. We can't find out soon enough how many games we're going to get this season," said Bret Green, media relations director for the Kalamazoo Xplosion.
ESPN 1660 covers the Greater Kalamazoo Area, and at night reaches as far south as Marcellus, and as far north as Plainwell. The station also reaches as far west as Paw Paw, and as far east as Climax.
During the day, you can pick up ESPN 1660 all the way into the outskirts of Grand Rapids, and into Benton Harbor in the west. If your listening area doesn't fall under that coverage, you can listen to the games at www.espn1660.com.
