WR Rashad Daniels Departs for Position at Rutgers University

WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita Force WR Rashad Daniels announced today that he will not finish the 2016 season due to an employment opportunity with Rutgers University.

Daniels will depart from Wichita on Thursday to head to the university where he will start his position as an intern. He will complete his certification in August and will be named assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Scarlet Knights' football team.

Daniels left the following comment in regard to ending his football career to step into his professional career:

"I just want to thank all of the fans for the past four years with the Wichita Wild and Wichita Force for a great season," Daniels commented on leaving the team. "I have enjoyed my time and every moment that I have shared with you all. The opportunity I have to be at Rutgers University is a blessing and I am humble for the coaches allowing me to be a part of the staff. I promise to work hard and give it my all as I did for you guys. This is just the beginning to something great. Thank you!"

This season, Daniels has recorded 262 receiving yards on 19 catches and one touchdown. He has earned a fumble recovery for a 15-yard touchdown in the contest against the Texas Revolution.

Daniels played for the Force in the final two games of the 2015 season after suffering a knee injury in training camp. In those two games, he earned 55 receiving yards on three receptions.

Daniels signed with the former Wichita Wild (CPIFL) in 2013 where he played in nine games and recorded 16 catches for 218 yards and five touchdowns. The following year, he racked up 397 yards and seven touchdowns on 26 catching including the game winning touchdown pass in the CPIFL Champions Bowl.
