
WR Brett Soft Re-Signs for 2017

WICHITA, Kan. - The Wichita Force has announced the re-signing of local wide receiver Brett Soft for the 2017 season. Soft rejoins the Force after a stellar 2016 season, his second with the Force, where he caught 48 passes for 492 yards. He finished second on the team in touchdown receptions with 14. Soft was a leader on special teams accounting for 31 tackles on kickoff coverage. His versatility was evident last season when he started at defensive back against the Omaha Beef and secured his first career interception with the Force. Soft has also filled in at kicker for the Force, going 3-5 on point after attempts in a 2015 game. In his rookie season with the Force, Soft caught 31 passes for 336 yards and 6 touchdowns. Soft joined the team following an invite from open tryouts held prior to the 2015 season.
A native of Wichita, Soft graduated from Maize High School and attended Butler Community College before transferring to the University of Central Arkansas. As a Grizzly, Soft served as a wide receiver and free safety where he totaled 59 receptions for 771 yards and seven touchdowns and led to team to the NJCAA national championship game. He was named to the All-Jayhawk Conference team.
