WPS Teams Release 2011 Opening Day Rosters
March 31, 2011 - Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) News Release
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (March 30, 2011) - Atlanta Beat, Boston Breakers, magicJack, Philadelphia Independence, Sky Blue FC, and Western New York Flash submitted their opening day rosters to the league office on Wednesday, March 30.
While there were only a few changes from the second round of preseason roster cuts last week, one notable addition is Spanish striker Adriana Martin Santamaria, now with Sky Blue FC. The star of the Spanish National Team will help forwards Eniola Aluko, Casey Nogueira, and Alyssa Mautz give more offensive power for the New Jersey-based club.
Sky Blue will have a chance to showcase their new crop of talent to the nation when they host the Philadelphia Independence in the first televised game of the season. This match will be aired on FOX Soccer at 6pm ET on Sunday, April 10.
The day before, on Saturday, April 9, Atlanta Beat will host the Boston Breakers in Kennesaw, GA in the first game of 2011.
