Women's Football Tryouts in Louisville

Nashville, TN-The National Women's Football Association has announced the tryout date for the Louisville expansion team. The National Women's Football league is the largest tackle football league in the world for women.

Tryouts for the Louisville expansion will be held on November 15th at Paul Horning Filed at Shawnee Park in Louisville, KY. Registration begins at 10:00am. All participants must be at least 18 and have their own health insurance. There is a one time $35.00 try out fee. Anyone interested in playing, coaching or owning the team should attend.

The NWFA will be hosting regional tryouts for the Louisville expansion team in Cincinnati, Ohio on Nov. 8th. Jay Leno's Tonight Show is sending a crew to shoot a segment to appear on the Show. "We have several women from Louisville driving up to Cinci for the Regional tryouts," states Debby Lening, VP NWFA. "From the response that I am getting in Nashville, we should see some great athletes on the Louisville team," adds Lening.

The NWFA has 37 teams in 23 states. The league wrapped up its 2003 season with the National Women's Football Championship Game that was held at Vanderbilt University in Nashville in front of 5,726 fans.

The NWFA also has a 5-year TV deal with The Football Network which includes a game of the week as well as coverage of the league's playoff games, the National Championship game and a weekly highlight show during the season.

The 2004 season begins April 3rd.
