Women's Football at NFL Experience

Nashville, TN-The National Women's Football Association, the largest full contact women's football league in the world, participated at the 2004 NFL Experience this past weekend in Houston.

The league and it's teams spent two hours showcasing women's football to the many fans in the stands. "It was great to show these football fans our brand of football. We had hundreds of fans watching and cheering as our players and coaches, who've never played together before, ran some incredible plays," states Debby Lening, league Vice President. "We had a diverse group of players from teams around the league participate. The fans were very impressed with the ladies talent. We came away from the event feeling like we added a bunch of new fans," adds Lening.

The teams that participated were: Austin Outlaws, Alabama Renegades, Connecticut Crush, Dallas Dragons, DC Divas, Denton Stampede, Kansas City Krunch, Nashville Dream, New Orleans Blaze, Pittsburgh Passion, Rochester Raptors and the Shoals SmasHers.

The National Women's Football Association is the largest league in the world for women's football with 39 teams in 24 states! The league starts its fourth season in April and is looking forward to increasing the fan base and national exposure for the league and its teams. Last year The 2003 World Championship Game was held at the Vanderbilt University stadium in Nashville in front of nearly 6,000 fans. The league website receives 1-3 Million hits per month.
