Manchester Wolves News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. (February 15, 2004) - The Manchester Wolves, New England's newest professional football team, announced today that the organization has reached an agreement with WFEA AM 1370 to be the flagship station carrying Wolves football. In that capacity, WFEA will broadcast all 16 Manchester Wolves games during their inaugural 2004 season.
"We're extremely pleased to be able to bring Wolves football to New Hampshire sports fans through the help of our new partnership with WFEA," Wolves General Manager Angelo Mazzella said. "I know our fans are going to be excited as well by the news. Now they can truly follow the Wolves wherever they are, whether it's at home or on the road."
WFEA has been broadcasting continuously since March 1, 1932, making it New Hampshire's longest-running station. The station currently runs under the "Music of Your Life" format, full of performers like Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond and Diana Krall. The station's 5,000-watt tower booms from Manchester to Nashua and the Merrimack Valley. WFEA is a member of Saga Communications' Manchester Radio Group, along with sister stations WZID and COOL 96.5 FM.
"We are thrilled to have the Wolves here in the area and even more excited about our new relationship with the team," WFEA President and General Manager Ray Garon said. "We look forward to our station broadcasting great arena football action to Wolves fans throughout the state."
The Wolves have also scored big by signing on area sports radio veteran Dick Lutsk to handle the play-by-play duties for the team this season. Most New Hampshire fans will recognize Lutsk best from his most recent duties as the color analyst for the Manchester Monarchs on their statewide radio network, and as the co-host of "Candlepins Stars & Strikes" on WNDS-TV. He has also done radio and television play-by-play for the Lowell Spinners, Maine Phillies, Harvard football and hockey, Boston College football and basketball, UNH football, basketball and hockey and various other events at almost every level imaginable.
Lutsk also hosted a sports talk show in Boston for five years and did a pre-game and post-game show on the Red Sox Network.
Don't miss the Wolves first season of hard-hitting action in New Hampshire. Season ticket packages for the Wolves are available for dream, lower bowl and upper bowl seats. Dream seats can be purchased at $260 per season ticket for adults and $160 per season ticket for youths or seniors. Lower bowl seats are available for $180 per season ticket for adults and $100 for youths or seniors. Upper bowl seats can be purchased for $112 per season ticket for adults and $76 per season ticket for youths or seniors.
The Wolves kick off their inaugural season in New Hampshire on Saturday, April 10 against the Quad City Steamwheelers at the Verizon Wireless Arena. That night will truly be historic as the Manchester Wolves host the first arena football game ever played at the Verizon Wireless Arena. All eight Wolves home games start at 7:30 PM.
