LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The ninth annual Phillies Winter Tour is coming to Lakewood, and the World Series trophy is coming too. The BlueClaws will host a sit-down dinner on Tuesday, January 13th at Woodlake Country Club in Lakewood where fans will have the opportunity to get their picture taken with the World Series trophy.

New BlueClaws manager Dusty Wathan will attend along with Greg Legg, the first BlueClaws manager, who will serve as hitting coach in 2009, as he did in 20-

08. Phillies pitcher JA Happ, who was with the BlueClaws in 2005, Phillies Assistant General Managers Chuck LaMar and Scott Proefrock, and broadcaster, and Brick native, Tom McCarthy will also be there, with possibly more to be added.

"It's not every day that a fan can get this close to the same trophy that was in the locker room after the Phillies clinched the World Series," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "We're grateful the Phillies could provide such a great opportunity for all baseball fans in the area."

The photos will be taken professionally, and each person will have a picture mailed to them after the event.

Tickets are $34.95 per person, the least expensive of any of the other Winter Tour stops the Phillies will make this year. Businesses, organizations, or groups of any kind can purchase a table of 10 for $400. They will be allowed to take group and individual photos with the trophy, whereas individuals will be limited to one photo per person. Groups will also receive special recognition in the program and a table in the front of the banquet hall.

To order tickets, please call Lisa Carone in the BlueClaws front office at 732-901-7000 x 192.

The event begins with photos and cocktails from 5-7 pm. Dinner will begin promptly at 7 pm.

The trophy is 24 inches tall and 11 inches in diameter. Made of sterling silver by Tiffany and Co., it weights about 30 pounds and has 30 gold-plated flags representing each Major League organization. Also, BlueClaws mascot Buster and his good friend, the Phillie Phanatic, will be entertaining guests throughout the evening.

This year's event will benefit local charitable organizations including the Salvation Army of Ocean County, Ocean County YMCA, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ocean County, the Jersey Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Kortney Rose Foundation, Parents of Autistic Children (POAC), and the Jersey Shore Council of Boy Scouts.

Additional guests could be added at a later date. Past attendees include Phillies managers Charlie Manuel and Larry Bowa, former general manager Pat Gillick, and players including Chase Utley, Brett Myers, Ryan Madson, Kyle Kendrick, Chris Coste, and Randy Wolf.

The Lakewood BlueClaws, a single-A affiliate of the World Champion Philadelphia Phillies, welcomed 425,166 fans to FirstEnergy Park during the 2008 season which upped their eight-season total to 3,595,378. They have led the South Atlantic League in average or overall attendance in each of their eight seasons.
