Wings Lose Battle to Blast

Wichita Wings News Release
Wichita, KS - To kick off the first half of their weekend trip, the Wichita Wings (1-5) battled the Baltimore Blast (8-0) in 1st Mariner Arena, and with a 10-6 loss would fail to end the Blast's so far, perfect record. Although the Wings demonstrated a true team effort with goals from Alex Moseley, Miguel Ferrer and Freddy Moojen, their contributions were not enough to stop Baltimore from pulling away with their eighth win of the season.
Shortly after the start of the game, midfielder, Alex Moseley, led the Wings with the first score of the night, which would end up being the only goal scored in the first quarter to put the Wings up by two. Blast forward, Lucio Gonzaga, would produce the tying goal in the second quarter, making the score 2-2. Wichita's Miguel Ferrer answered back with a two-point goal, giving the Wings a 4-2 lead going into halftime.
Only seconds into the third quarter, Baltimore midfielder, Max Ferdinand, scored the equalizer to make the score 4 all. The Blast would then take the lead with a goal by Tony Donatelli just before the conclusion of the quarter, leaving the Wings down by two with a score of 6-4.
The Blast began the final quarter with a goal from forward, Machel Millwood to extend their lead to 4, putting them up 8-4 over the Wings. With about four minutes left in the match, Wichita team captain, Freddy Moojen responded with a two point goal to scratch Baltimore's lead to two. However, this would not suffice, as the Blast would cash in on their final goal of the night from Neto to end the game with a 10-6 win over the Wings.
Wichita will continue play tomorrow night in Syracuse against the Silver Knights, the only team they have claimed a victory over this season. This will be the first meeting between the teams since the trade of Jamar Beasley and Bryan Perez, formerly with the Wings, for previous Silver Knights players, Andre Berenzon and Matt Clare. Kick-off for the match is set for 7:00 p.m. (EST) in Oncenter War Memorial and can be viewed online at http://uslnation.com/misl/.
