Wichita Wings News Release

The Wichita Wings of The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) held open tryout today at Hartman Arena for the 2011-2012 season. Over 90 tryout participants showed up for their chance to get a shot of playing for The Wichita Wings, some arriving as early as 7am to be the first in line to register.

Numbers where so great that Head Coach LeBaron Hollimon had to break the tryouts into three separate sessions. Both the fans that came to watch and those trying out didn't seem to mind the prospect of getting to watching a few more hours of soccer.

Overall Coach Hollimon was pleased with what he saw on the first day of a two-day tryout. "We saw a good quality of players with a high work ethic out here today, and were looking forward to seeing what the players we invite back tomorrow will bring. The players who came out today are out here chasing their dreams, and you have to respect that."

Dreams, it may be the highlight word this weekend for the Wichita Wings. Addressing the tryout participants this morning, Wings General Manager spoke on the subject. "Chase your dreams guys, if you don't have dreams you don't have anything." Time, hard work, and maybe a little luck will tell when any of these players reach their dreams.

Day two of tryouts will continue tomorrow at Hartman Arena where those invited back from day one will get another opportunity to showcase their skills. Catch the second day of open tryouts tomorrow from 9am-2pm.
