Wichita Wings News Release
WICHITA, KS - The Wichita Wings have added yet another stand out player to their roster for the upcoming season. Tiguinho will take the field as the Wings newest Forward this season with big expectations and the talent to impress. Tiguinho will join the Wings after playing last season for the rival Missouri Comets.
Coach Lebaron Hollimon expressed his excitement about the Wings new look for 2012-2013. "We've brought in guys like Tiguinho that can make us stronger as a unit. Tiguinho will complement the players we already have, ultimately making us a better team." Tiguinho will rejoin his teammate Geison Moura as former Comets now with the Wings, which could add fuel the fiery rivalry developed between both clubs.
Last season Tiguinho was a solid offensive contributor scoring 27 points for the Comets with 12 assists in just 13 games. After signing with the Wings, Tiguinho voiced his thoughts on joining the squad for this season. "I am very happy to be part of a top team like the Wichita Wings. The Wings have a very committed staff, coach and fans, which makes us players feel more confident in the field. A relationship like that is the key for a united team and a successful season. I will do my best, every day, until the end of the season, so we can reach our goals and bring the trophy to Wichita. Now my heart is orange!"
The Wings Coaching staff will look for Tiguinho to impact their offensive attack right out of the gate. Last season, he was voted MISL player of the week after scoring 9 points aiding the Comets in a record setting night for points scored by a team. With the experience Tiguinho brings to the Wings coupled with his scoring ability, it will not be long before teams across the league recognize the Wings new look.
