Wilson, Watson and Greenhalgh capture awards

After defeating the Philadelphia Wings 12-11 in overtime of the Hall of Fame Game last Friday, the Toronto Rock took home three of the four Week Nine player awards. Forward Aaron Wilson won both the Overall and Offensive Player of the Week honors and goaltender Bob Watson was named the Defensive Player of the Week. Wings forward Sean Greenhalgh was named the Rookie of the Week.

Toronto Rock forward Aaron Wilson has been awarded Overall and Offensive Player of the Week honors in Week Nine for his performance in a 12-11 overtime win over the Philadelphia Wings. Wilson scored five goals, including the game-winner in overtime and collected five loose balls in Friday night's Hall of Fame Game.

Toronto Rock goaltender Bob Watson also earned honors for his efforts in the Hall of Fame Game, being named Defensive Player of the Week. The veteran in his tenth year stopped 37 of the 48 shots securing the overtime win. The win was Watson's fifth consecutive win.

Philadelphia Wings forward Sean Greenhalgh earned Rookie of the Week honors in the loss to Toronto. The rookie scored two goals and added two assists for a total of four points and also collected four loose balls. This is the fourth weekly award that Greenhalgh has nabbed. Greenhalgh was also named Rookie of the month in January.

OFFENSIVE AND OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Aaron Wilson (Toronto) - (5G, 5Pts, 5LB) scored five goals, including the game winner in a 12-11 OT win over Philadelphia, and also collected 5 loose balls.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bob Watson (Toronto) - (37 Saves, 11GA) in a 12-11 OT win over Philadelphia, Watson had 37 saves and allowed eleven goals.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Sean Greenhalgh (Philadelphia) - (2G, 2A, 4Pts, 4LB) scored two goals, and added two assists for a total of four points and also collected four loose balls in a 12-11 OT loss to Toronto.

The Weekly Player Awards are determined by a vote of the General Managers & Head Coaches of the league's eleven member clubs.
