Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release

Mathis earned his first Texas Collegiate League Pitcher of the Week award after a superb and uncommon outing. It's not often pitchers throw nine innings to earn a complete game shutout in summer collegiate ball, but Mathis went a step further than that. Facing the Pump Jacks on July 25, the left-hander delivered the longest outing in the TCL this season, tossing ten shutout innings, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out eight. Even stranger, the New Mexico junior picked up neither the win nor the complete game, as Acadiana and East Texas took their scoreless tie into the eleventh inning before the Cane Cutters triumphed, 1-0.

The Cane Cutters will take on the Victoria Generals Wednesday 8/1 at 6:00 and 8:00 at Fabacher Field, to make up a previous rainout. Wednesdays are Ladies Nights, so Margaritas and Wine will be $2 for the Ladies. Duhon's Fun Jumps will be here for the kids.
